Chapter Twenty-Eight

Penny arrived in the Vermilion City train station late at night, not having slept a wink since boarding it. Over the course of her trip she had automatically rebuffed at least a dozen attempts to engage her in conversation, all without even noticing. Lifting her bags, including the one carrying her Pokeball’s she hurried off the train. Finding a taxi was easy at this time of night, so throwing her things in the back, then joining them she ordered the driver to take her to the Hospital.

“Which one” the bored looking man asked.

It took a real effort of will to remember. Penny was groggy and worried beyond belief. Not two things that went well together when trying to remember something important. Finally she remembered the slip of paper her sister had put in her blouse pocket. Taking it out she unfolded it, managed an exhausted smile as she read it filly. “Vermilion City Central Hospital please” she finally answered. “My wife’s been badly injured and that’s all I know so far. We’re from Stonehome so they flew her down here, oh Gods please hurry. Please.”

In moments they were in traffic.
